The West African Edition of The Ofi Press was published online in November 2012 in collaboration with Bakwa Magazine in Cameroon featuring poetry, photography from Cameroon, Mali, Ghana, Nigeria and Sierra Leone.
The special edition was featured in Heritage 1960 Magazine's African Issue as a publication that highlighted Africa as a "global force to reckon with".
We are still very keen to receive submissions from writers, artists and poets from West Africa for our monthly editions. Please get in contact at: theofipress[at]mail.com
The Ofi Press West African Edition: Call for Submissions
SUBMISSIONS FOR THE SPECIAL EDITION NOW CLOSED
(We are however to submissions from West African writers for consideration in our monthly editions).
In a unique and exciting collaboration between The Ofi Press (Mexico) and Bakwa Magazine (Cameroon) we are currently looking for submissions of poetry, essays, articles, stories, art work, photos etc. from West Africa to feature in our special December 2012 edition. The best works that are chosen for publication will be translated into Spanish giving a wide audience in Latin America for your work. In the same month, Bakwa will produce a special Mexican edition which will go live to a large audience in Cameroon and beyond.
You don’t have to have been published previously to participate; you just need a special creative spark. So far we have accepted work from Cameroon, Ghana and Nigeria but we are looking for more! If you would like more information on submissions and our projects, please contact The Ofi Press’ editor, Jack Little at: [email protected] or Dzekashu MacViban of Bakwa Magazine at: [email protected]
